Step 1: Register with Us
Send us the following to get started:
Starter Checklist or P45
Proof of ID & Right to Work
NI number and bank details
We’ll set you up as a PAYE employee of Smart Umbrella Pay within 1 working day. No long forms or complex onboarding.
Step 2: Get Booked & Paid
Once your agency places you into a role, they’ll send us a timesheet or confirmation of hours worked.
We then:
Invoice the agency/client for your hours
Deduct tax, National Insurance, pension (if applicable), and our margin
Pay your net pay directly to your bank account every Friday
You’ll also receive a payslip with a full breakdown of your earnings and deductions.
Step 3: Stay Covered
As your umbrella employer, we take care of:
PAYE Tax & NI
Holiday Pay
Statutory Sick Pay
Statutory Maternity/Paternity Pay
Pension Auto-Enrolment
You’re officially employed by us for the duration of your assignment(s), with no hassle or paperwork on your end.
